About me
My name is Sarina Rick. I am a contemporary artist based in Oldenburg, Germany. As a self-taught painter, I explore fragility and strength in my works – most recently in the Cracked Series. My art is collected internationally and has been exhibited in Germany and the Netherlands.
Artist statement
Sarina Rick, born in 1978, is a contemporary artist whose works span portraits, abstract paintings, and ink figures. Her Cracked Series explores identity and transience through fractured, earth-like textures that merge human and natural forms. The ink figures, by contrast, are faceless stereotypes – blurred and reinterpreted through ink and water.
Her works invite viewers to find their own stories within them, allowing for interpretations that evolve over time. This openness and experimental approach have become a defining element of her artistic practice.
