Cracked

Cracked is the first piece in a series that depicts people covered in cracked black and white earth. The transition from person to earth is seamless, as are the boundaries.Does the earth engulf the human being or vice versa? Do human and earth intertwine? Does the earth wear a human mask? Does the human being wear a mask?I always love to hear what viewers see in my paintings. However, these were questions I asked myself during the process of developing the motif. There are many more questions and potential interpretations of the portraits. Any topic that is prominent in the viewer’s life might be reflected in the picture.
